Sara from Spain is at the airport. She is waiting for her flight to London. But her flight is late. “Oh no!” she says. She sits down and waits.
Next to her, Ken from Japan is also waiting. “Is your flight late too?” he asks.
“Yes!” Sara says. “I am going to London. You?”
“I am going to Tokyo,” Ken says. “We are both stuck here!”
They laugh. Then, Priya from India walks by. She is looking around and says, “Where is my flight? I am going to Mumbai, but it is late!”
Louis from France hears them and joins. “I am going to Paris, but my flight is late too!” He shows them a small sandwich. “Look at this! It is so small, and it cost 10 euros!”
Everyone laughs. “That is the smallest sandwich ever!” Sara says.
Then Pedro from Brazil and Sofia from Chile walk over. “Are your flights late too?” Pedro asks. He has a big bag of chips.
“Yes!” they all say.
Pedro opens his chips. “I have snacks. Let’s share!”
Sofia looks at Louis’s sandwich. “You need chips with that sandwich!”
They all laugh and share the snacks. They talk about their homes and how airports are the same everywhere. They are happy to wait together.
Then, they hear: “Flight to London, now boarding!”
“That’s me!” Sara says. She waves goodbye to her new friends. “See you next time!”
Ken waves and says, “Next time, let’s not be stuck at the airport!”
They all laugh and say goodbye, happy to have made new friends.
