Funny A1-Level English Story: “The Day Tom Had a Headache

Tom woke up one morning and felt very strange.

“Oh no! I think I have a headache!” he said. He checked the clock. It was 7:00 AM, and he needed to go to work. He got up, but his head still hurt.

“Maybe I need an aspirin,” Tom thought. But there was no aspirin in the house!

Tom ran to his neighbor’s door and knocked. His neighbor, Lucy, opened the door.

“Lucy, do you have an aspirin? I’ve got a terrible headache,” Tom asked.

Lucy smiled. “No, Tom, but I have something better. A hot drink! It will help!”

Tom drank the hot drink, but his head still hurt.

“Oh no! I think I’m going to be sick!” Tom said. He quickly ran to the bathroom, but nothing happened.

Then, Lucy looked at Tom and said, “Tom, are you sure it’s a headache? Maybe you’re just hungry.”

Tom thought for a moment. “Hungry? No… Oh wait, I didn’t eat breakfast!”

Lucy laughed and gave him some bread. After eating, Tom’s headache was gone!

“I wasn’t sick! I was just hungry!” Tom smiled.
