Emma is a kind, cheerful girl, but she has one big problem: she always forgets her promises.

One Friday afternoon, Emma says to her friends, “I will bring my favorite book for you all on Monday!” Her friends are excited. They love books and want to see which one Emma likes the most.

But when Monday comes, Emma walks into class empty-handed. Her friend Mia asks, “Where’s the book?”

Emma’s face turns red. “Oh no! I forget! I will bring it tomorrow, I promise.”

On Tuesday, Emma walks in… again with no book. “Emma!” her friends say, a little annoyed. “You won’t remember, will you?”

Emma shakes her head, laughing nervously. “I will, I promise! I won’t forget this time!”

But Wednesday comes, and Emma is still without the book. By now, her friends are not surprised. They joke, “Emma, we won’t count on you to remember.”

Emma laughs, “Next time, I will definitely remember!” She hopes her friends believe her one day, but they know that Emma’s promises might be forgotten again.
